2011 End of the Yea Goal Recap

Financial:
July 1st 2011 – $6,000 for Trip to London and Paris Completed
July 1st 2011 – OSAP debt down to $6,000 Completed
Dec 31st 2011 – $1,000 in TFSAFail. This particular goal changed a few times over the year. I started out wanting to save $5,000 and then changed it to $2,000 when I had to save for Europe, and then I made the decision that paying off my OSAP was more important so I changed the amount to $1,000. Sadly at the time of posting I only have $858.11 in my TFSA which I’m okay with.
Jan 31st 2012 – OSAP debt paid off Completed

Personal:
Dec 31st 2011 – Lose 30 poundsFail. I only ended up losing 10 pounds, so hopefully in 2012 I can stick to what I’m doing and lose some more weight.
Take a photography classFail. I didn’t take a class but I did participate in a Photography Challenge, so I don’t consider this a total fail.
Blog at least three times a week with decent postsPass. I like to think I passed this. You tell me? what would you like to see in 2012 on wastemytime?

Kitchen Items for the New House

Mom and I went shopping yesterday evening for some house stuff. Canadian Tire and this cute little shop in town had some great boxing day sales going on and the deals were too good to pass up.
My mom paid for everything and I will slowly work at paying her back, but check out what I go.

Paderno
Regular Price is $599.99 and I got it for about $200 tax included.

Corningware
Regular Price is $59.99 and I got it for $39.99

Tupperware
Picked it up for $8 at walmart

Glass dishes
One dish alone costs $10.99 and I got 3 for $13 (I think – Mom has the recipe so I can’t check)

Oh, and just in case you’ve been wondering; it did end up snowing in my area, but it then turned to freezing rain, so it was a huge pain to clean off my car. Thankfully I don’t plan to go anywhere anytime soon.

2011 Recap

It’s time for a yearly recap!

2010 was somewhat of a crazy year for me with a lot of ups and downs so I’m glad to report that 2011 was a lot better.

I started out the year winning a Nikon D3100 and since I already owned one I decided to trade it in for Nikon Flash. I then entered an italian photo contest and recently found out that I won 2nd place, which consisted of a $25 LCBO gift card and a plaque. Not really what I was expecting to win, but it’s something.

In May I made the decision to upgrade my Camera, mostly because I wanted to be able to use a remote and have a swivel display so I purchased a Nikon D5100 which came in handy when I went to Europe in July.
(Read about my visit to London, England which took place on July 15th/16th, July 17th, July 18th, and July 19th and read about my visit to Paris, France which took place on July 20th, July 21st, July 22nd and July 23rd)

Prior to purchasing the camera I was able to pay off my OSAP debt. It was a great feeling. I’m most proud of that.

In August my Uncle married an amazing lady and they allowed me to Photograph their wedding. My sister assisted me since I was using both of my cameras and I was grateful for how good the photos turned out. I decided then that I needed to spend more time using my camera, so In October I participated in a Photo Challenge . I also looked into some Camera classes and might be taking some in the new year.

Also in October a Ghost Whisperer came to my parents house and the whole experience was pretty interesting, then in November I shocked everyone by purchasing a townhouse. I also got some pretty swanky appliances as well.

To round out the year, I turned 28 years old.

2011 was good to me, and I can’t wait to experience all the different things that 2012 will bring.

Watch for my 2011 Goal Recap, which will be posted soon.

Merry Christmas

It’s still hard to believe that it’s actually Christmas time. Looking out the window, there is no snow, however light flurries are forecasted for this afternoon. So it could be a white christmas after all? I doubt it!

no snow

Yesterday evening my family had their annual open house and it was a rather small get together this year. Instead of people dropping in and then leaving shortly after, everyone who did come ended up staying.

The last guest left shortly after 1am and then I booked it for bed. I ended up sleeping in till about 10:30am and around 11:30am we opened presents. I already received my christmas money and used it towards my appliances so I wasn’t expecting anything under the tree. However, my dad ended up getting me a socket set + $50 and a screwdriver set (he forgot to wrap the screwdriver set and left it in the garage – typical man).

xmas present

And now I get to just chill out and wait till my grandparents and my uncle arrive. Christmas dinner is going to be pretty low key today.

Merry Christmas!
