Tomorrow is Christmas Eve. With the lack of snow in my part of Ontario, you would never imagine that it was this close to Christmas, but it is.
Check out the gifts I’ve already received. They are from my students.
I already know that I have no gifts under the tree this year. Technically no one in my family does. The gifts under the tree are for my aunt, uncle and grandparents. I already received my christmas money and it went towards paying off my mastercard.
Each of my students received a christmas ornament. They are so thoughtful enough to get me a gift, the least I can do is return the favour.

While my mom and I were shopping at Costco this evening for our Christmas Eve open house I made a comment about how it does not feel like December or Christmas time at all. Can you believe it? The year is almost over. I must admit thou, I’m pretty excited for Jan 1st 2012 to come because then I can officially start counting down the days till I move into my new place. The current countdown sits at 39 days.
Speaking of the new place; today I received a phone call from the Brick informing me that there was an outstanding balance on my bill and that my appliance delivery would not be delivered on Friday unless the balance was paid in full. I was confused and a little shocked by both because I remember going to the Brick and paying the entire bill a few weeks ago. I have the recipes to even prove it, however when I called back my main concern was about the deliver date being for Friday. As in Friday December 30th 2011. I explained when my deliver date should be and once that was all straightened out the outstanding balance was explained to me. It ended up only being $10. Can you image if it was more. That would totally have ruined my night.
Turns out the customer service rep mistook a 9 for an 8 and didn’t quite charge me the full amount. There was no way for me to catch that because of the way my bill looks and the agreement I have with my home builder as to how much the base model appliance credits are. But it’s all sorted out and I’m just glad that I won’t be receiving my appliances next week. I was able to figure out that the entire price I paid for all 5 appliances is basically the price for my fridge. Insane.
In other news, yesterday was my Nonna’s 79th birthday. My family (minus my sister who was working) went over to her place with a cake. She seems to be enjoying herself a little too much, I think.

Well, I best be getting myself into bed. It’s past 10pm and tomorrow I have a house to clean and prep for a ton of guests. I’ll try to get some photos of the house decorated while I’m cleaning. My mom and I did things a little different this year with our yearly ornaments. Usually they just go on the tree, but not this year, and I can’t wait to do it at my new place.
