Hi, I’m Erica. I'm a 20 something blogger from Ontario, Canada. I'm an ECE in a JK classroom, a wanna be photography, pseudo aunt, and a godmother. I still live at home with my parents, and can count on one hand the number of close friends I have. I am very gullible and shy. I prefer to keep to myself and have a hard time letting someone get close. I've owned numerous domains; this obviously being the current one. It's a place for me to vent and rant as well as a place to help me keep on track with paying off my debt and to help me get a handle on my spending. Some posts will be sponsored and some are private. Thanks for visiting!!

My income was a bit lower then usual this month, due to the retarded schedule that I receive my pay and the fact that I had a few days off.
I did do pretty good though. I had wanted to get my Insurance totally saved for (It’s paid every 6 months, and due in August) so that’s why I threw the extra money on there and I’m proud to say that when it comes time to pay it I wont be stressing about saving for the money, because I have it. I’ve also decided to continue with $300 a month so that in case something happens to my car (like it breaking down this month) I’ll have some extra cash for it. I have yet to be charged for the tow so it’s not being calculated into this budget. With that said, I’m setting aside some money from my pay that I received today to cover it just in case. The actual $300 that is owed for my car being repaired has already been paid so it’s not being counted either. I did some major cleaning for my mom this past weekend and I will be for the month of July so she said that would even us up.

Other then that I don’t have much else to say. I’ve almost got my $5,000 saved and once I do I will throw it onto my OSAP. I was going to save it, but I’d feel much better about having the OSAP paid off sooner.

For the month of July I’m expecting things to be pretty tight again since I have various events planned with Cassie.

Work

I was informed yesterday that my work hours will be changing for the summer. I’m going from working 8:30-5:00 to as of July 2nd working 9:00-5:30. It’s not a huge change, however it’s a big enough change to effect everything that I had planned for the summer, mostly some pre planned dates with Cassie that need me to be at her place for a certain time. The hrs also mess up a gym schedule I had all worked out, so now I need to look back into that.

During my lunch break today I plan to ask my boss if there are certain dates that I can switch a shift because thing’s are all ready planned and me working that extra half an hr totally messes with being being at Cassie’s for a certain time. I’m sure it wont be a big deal, especially since I’m giving like 2 weeks notice.

In other news, my mom’s decided to pay me to take over the cleaning of the house. With her back and knee injury she often comes home very tired from work and since I’m the only child mostly home (sis works 3 jobs, bro is usually doing things outside or not home, and dad..well he never does anything inside lol) I already help her out. Yesterday we did some laundry (her loading/unloading the machine and hanging some outside, while I hang some downstairs), and tonight I have to clean the bathrooms (cleaning the shower has always been my job cuz no one likes to do it) before heading to Dave’s. On sunday I’m going to clean the showers and some other rooms in the house. Possibly, this weekend I’ll make a cleaning plan so that it will be able to get done during the week and leaves me my weekends free for the already planned events.

Off to work now. Thank god it’s Friday!

Car Stuff

I received some great news today. My car was all fixed and ready to be picked up. Once my mom arrived home from work we drove to get in. In the end we figured out that the hose connecting the coolant to the engine was cracked which ended up resulting in the leaking coolant, thus resulting in the thermometer melting. While I was parked in Toronto for most of the afternoon the rest of the coolant must of leaked out thus resulting in my engine over heating and stalling out. In the end it only cost me a $211 tow fee, plus $300 to fix the car. I was thankful it wasn’t anything like a water pump or timing belt replacement. The connector for the coolant hose to the engine is now brand new and made of steel, so my mechanic said that I shouldn’t have any issue again, but to just watch everything and if I notice or think something is off to bring it back in asap.

I was also surprised to find out that apparently the coolant hose issue is a known issue with my type of car. Thankfully it’s the only known issue that we are aware of (other then a recall last year which was just a precaution). Seems I have bad luck with cars. Ever since I’ve had my first one; which was a Ford Escort I’ve always been nervous that something would eventually happen. First there was my accident and now this. It takes being paranoid to a whole new level. Now I’m totally paranoid about checking everything and everything.

The only bad thing now is that when I go get paid at the end of the month, I wont be able to put an extra $500 onto OSAP. Instead it will have to go to my mom (she paid the $300 this evening) and my Mastercard. Poop.
