This review is a little late and I apologize for that. Things have been super busy and I haven’t had time to sit down and write. This post was written while I was up north for the weekend with my dad and younger brother, his gf and his friends. It was a much needed relaxing getaway.
In this post I am reviewing the February Julep Box as well as the Cupid Box.
In the February It Girl Box I received:

I am in love with the nail polish colours. I immediately decided that I wanted to wear “Joan” and realized that my original photo depicts it to be more of a purple color, which is not true. I blame the flash for that mistake. These photos are without a flash, which show the colour to be more to it’s true state.

It’s more of a raspberry plum colour with a rose gold shimmer to it. I decided to use the Freedom Polymer Top Coat as well and absolutely love it. It goes on a bit thick and was a pain to remove from my fingers once it had dried, but both the polish and the top coat had a short dry time and the polish did not chip at all. It held it’s wear for an entire week.
The eyelash curler is just darling. It’s smaller then my usual eyelash curler, and hardly took up any space in my makeup bag. As per how it curls; I think it did a good job. I have yet to compare it to my original eyelash curler to see if there is any difference, but I am definitely loving how compact it is.
The chocolate’s were delicious as well.
So, how did I do with my Cupid Box.

Well, I wasn’t all that impressed.
This is what I received. As you can see, all I received was nail polish and a lip gloss that isn’t pictured. I believe my holographic polish is “Evangeline” however I can’t confirm this. To me, personally it seems to be more of a matte polish.

The nail polish I received are:
The only colour I plan to keep is Evangeline. The rest will be given away. I was disapointed in this box and don’t think I will be partaking in the mystery box’s again.
I did however order the March Julep Box and have ordered a dotting tool from Avon. I can’t wait to use the dotting tool. I’ve been trying to locate one for a while.
Recently I purchased a Erin Condren Planner. This is the 3rd planner that I’ve purchased and I’m still in love with it. This year I decided I wanted to be more organized and actually use the planner to it’s full potential. Last year I kind of fell off the planner bandwagon and didn’t use it as often as I could. I ended up just grabbing scrap paper and writing down bill due dates and to do lists while letting the planner just sit there. Big mistake since it’s not a cheap planner.

So, with my decision to be more organized I realized I would need some extra items. Leanne posted about these amazing sharpie pens that she was using so I went on the search for them. The first pack of sharpie pens I purchased were not actually pens (oops!) they were in fact markers and totally bled through the page.

Thankfully walmart took them back no problem. After a little communication via twitter (seriously, best app on my phone ever) I found out that Leanne picked them up at staples, so after work I tried to locate these pens.
Sadly I was not able to. Huge disappointment! The staples employee however was very helpful in trying to track the pens down, by looking online and contacting other stores. We were only able to find a pack of 3 which contained 1 red, 1 blue and 1 black pen, so I skip this purchase.
Instead I decided to purchase this colourful pack of Staedtler pens.

There are 10 pens in the pack and they come in the following colours:
Overall the pens are great. The tip is very fine (0.3mm) and the pack it’s self is awesome. The pens all have a self contained slot and the lid pops up to support the pack of pens. They are super easy to grab while I’m using them. They are also pretty colourful.

lately, I’ve been sitting in bed at night writing in my planner so being able to just grab a pen and not having to worry about digging through a pencil case is great.
A few months back I heard about this new nail polish that was textured. Images were popping up all over Instagram and I was falling more in love with it, but was having trouble tracking it down. Finally I saw it on display at a hair salon and realized if I don’t purchase them now, I’m never going to.
I ended up purchasing O.P.I Sand Texture in the following colours:
(Note: There is a blue colour, however the store was sold out at the time. I totally plan to go back and pick it up.)

As soon as I purchased these new polishes I wanted to try them out. I had to try them out. I’ve been lusting over them for months, so why wait any longer.
At first I ended up painting my entire hand in red, then I realized that I wanted to swatch them all, so I removed the polish from my middle finger and painted it black. Instead of removing the red polish from my pinky finger I just put the purple polish over top. Reason for this is because the polish is a pain to remove. It took me 3 pads soaked in polish remover just to get the red polish off my middle finger.

Once on, the polish is simply amazing. It goes on really easily, which surprised me since it’s a texture polish. I was worried that it might be clumpy, or goopy, but that’s not the case at all. It also dries super quick as well.
To the touch, once dried, the polish does have a really neat sand texture feeling. A top coat is not needed with this polish but I might try it one time just to see how it changes the polish. Also after a week of wear, the polish was not chipped at all.
The little jewel pieces located within the polish glisten when they catch the light, and if you are lucky and can catch a star located in the red polish I bet that would look pretty cool as a nail design. I was unable to do so.
Each polish retails for about $10.99 which is a little pricey I think. I usually stick to Essie polish, which is cheaper or Julep which is $20 for 4 polish bottles + other items.
Overall I am very happy with this O.P.I Polish and cant wait to track down the blue colour.
