Wordless Wednesday {My Back Deck}

At the beginning of the week I arrived home to a notice on my front door. The notice was informing me that my back deck would be completed by the end of this week. As of yesterday evening it looked like this.

Pretty much the only thing missing are some stairs. Then I think I’m going to have my dad come in and close up under the deck so I can use it as a storage area for my lawn mower, water hose and anything else I wanna put back there.

I’m not sure when I will be receiving grass, however I have no plans to build a fence. As mean as it is, I will let my neighbours take care of that.

So there you have it. It’s still a work in progress. I have no idea what I’m going to do with the spare bedroom. For now it’s a holding place for a bunch of stuff, which works for me. I didn’t take any photos of the laundry room because it just looks like a room with a dryer, sink and a washer inside.

Decorating The Lower Level

I’ve finally gotten around to taking photos of my house semi furnished. It’s taken me this long because I’m poor. Since I’m trying to buy things on sale, It’s taken me longer then I had planned, but that’s not a bad thing and I’m okay with it. I’m lucky that most items have been gifted to me, or were things I already owned.

So I present the lower level of my townhouse.

Front Hallway

I added the mirror hanging on the wall, and the chest of drawers as well as the floor mats.

I’m missing some frames still, but I’ve stuck the photos to the wall this way I know where they will go. All the photos are from London, England or Paris, France that I took.

Family Room

My family room is still a work in progress. I’m waiting on a couch from my grandparents and I would like to move the TV to the corner near the front hallway, where my basement stairs are, but I have to see if my dad is able to move the cable outlet or else I’m going to have to run a wire along the baseboards and I’m not sure I like that idea.

The table and chairs are gifted, and I would like to get my own someday but for now they work.

I Sure Have Been Busy

Does anyone else think that this year is just flying by? I can’t believe it’s the end of April already. In 2 months time I will be on summer vacation, and utterly bored. This will be a huge change from how my life was a year ago. I was spending countless hours planning my Europe vacation. Now I’m planning how to spend what little money I have left ofter after bills.

This week has been pretty busy for me, but that’s good, cuz I prefer to be busy. On Monday evening I tried to track down some extra frames for my photo wall. I was only able to get 5 frames and I need about 10 more and on tuesday I was suppose to hear back about securing more but no one called me. Surprise surprise.
Yesterday evening my mom and I saw Mirror Mirror and while I enjoyed the movie, I did not enjoy all the little kids that were also in attendance. This evening I was suppose to have a date, but I never heard back from the guy, so I’m just hanging out at home. Tomorrow evening my shutters arrive and then I have to attend a fashion show fitting for a fashion show in May. On Friday I have family visiting (yippy!) and then on Saturday I have a dinner/dance to attend where I get to show off my awesome 30 pound weight loss in a new beautiful dress.
On Sunday I plan to sleep all day and catch my breath because all this go go go is going to be pretty exhausting.

Once my shutters are up I plan to take some updated house photos. I figure it’s needed since the previous ones I posted show an empty house. Hopefully I’ll be able to get those up sometime next week.

Decorating Preview

Yesterday evening I got this sudden burst of creativity and I totally took advantage of it.

I’ve been trying to get into the decorating mood for a while now, and I finally have some items; such as frames, photos and what not to hang, so I tried to come up with locations and sets up as to how I wanted things to go. Originally I was just laying the photos on the floor, but then I remembered that I had painters tape so I could actually tape the photos to the wall and not worry about removing the paint.

So I present you with some preview photos.
Keep in mind the photos will eventually be in frames. For now they are sitting on my living room floor.

This is what you will see as you walk up the stairs to the second floor. I may change the photos around a bit, but this is essential what I am happy with right now. All the photos are 8×10′s in size.

I’ve had a decal from the dollar store sitting around for months and after searching online I finally figured out what to do with it since I’m opposed to sticking it right to my wall.

This is the work in progress. Basically it’s just a large photo frame, with the decal stuck right onto the class.

and this is the decal complete. I used the back of the paper that was in the frame for the white background. Originally I just wanted to have the glass in the frame with no backing, but I’m confused on how to keep the glass in the frame, so for now the white paper is there. I don’t think it looks all that bad.
