OMG I can finally breathe a sigh of relief. I’ve already booked a massage for April 26th. Too bad I couldn’t get anything closer to today’s date.
So to basically sum it up, Great West Life realizes and finally admits that they made an error with approving me for $750. It should have been $500. OH WELL!!!
Great West Life claims that they were unaware that I paid the service provider (like wtf?) with the money that was issued to me from them, so they issued a cheque months later. I was told that this hardly ever happens unless the service provider contacts Great West Life and is all “wtf, we need to get paid“.
I was then told that my case is being looking into. I guess the supervisor wants to know what happened; she’s also looking into why after numerous phone calls nothing was resolved, why I was never called back and why I was treated so horribly by an individual that goes by the name of Joelle.
So instead of me having to pay back $750, it’s only $500. However because I have the $500 cheque that was issued to the service provider and was never cashed by them, all I have to do is return that cheque to Great West Life. Sounds simple enough right? IT IS! That’s the resolution to this whole fucking disaster. A cheque never should have been issued since the service provider was paid.
I’m so glad that this is finally resolved. My dental and medical claims with now go through, hopefully with no issues *fingers crossed* and I can finally have a massage.
Oh Great West Life, how disappointed in you I am. No phone call at all last week, so yesterday evening when I arrived home from work I had to call yet again. The first time I called I had to ask to be transfered to the extension that I needed because there is no option to enter in an extension. It’s rather annoying because the person on the line kept asking me if she could help me. I had to politely explain to her that I did not want to re-explain the whole situation so she eventually put me through, and I ended up getting voice mail. LAME! I did end up leaving a message so hopefully I will receive a call sometime this week.
At that point I decided to make a second call back to Great West Life just to see if anything was added to my file. Maybe it was flagged and someone could tell me something. Yeah, that didn’t go very well. The guy on the phone was very nice and understanding about it all and he said that instead of resending the information to the ombudsmen that he would send it to the supervisor, flagged as urgent with a timed deadline. No idea what that is going to do.
So maybe this week I will hear something back. I’m honestly not holding my breath. I’m just so beyond this issue that I just want it resolved. Is that really too much to ask?
